12 gram efficiency on my Phantom

Well, my Phantom is finally finished, and yesterday at the field, I saw how many shots per 12 gram I could get. Needless to say, I was happy. Here are my results:

Phantom Upgrades: (that pertain towards efficiency/consistency)
ASP Detent Modded Body
Deadlywind barrel
SSC Tri Fluted Hammer
Polished Internals
Red Main Spring, Stock Valve
ASP O-Ringed Ported Open Faced TPC
Palmer's Sideline Stabilizer set at 500 PSI

And the shots, with a 20 second break between each. Shooting Nelson Anarchy through a .679 SS Freak insert:

275
276
278
269
278
270
281
280
276 (shot 10)
277
277
270
272
272
275
275
276
272
270 (shot 20)
281
278
285
273
282
278
273
275
278
276 (shot 30)
278
275
280
277
274
283
276
271 (shot 38)
257
248 (shot 40)
236
210
192

So, I got 38 good shots with an average of 276. After that, drop off was pretty significant. I am very happy with the results and the consistency of my Phantom. This thread is meant to show what a Phantom can achieve and act as a guideline for others to compare to.

Bassdude, what length DW are you using, and do you know what the output presure of the Stab is set at?... definitely impressive numbers man...

Also, I'd be interested in what type of paint and the paint/bore match you used... just considering your shot-to-shot deviation; also very impressive

Since you have the regulator, try turning the output pressure down to 400psi and use an open-face TPC. You might find you can stretch the end of the tank and get a half dozen or more extra shots off.

I have an ASP Open-Faced TPC, I just called it a ported one in my initial post. I edited it. Reg pressure is actually at 500. That's where it sweetspotted.

I'm using a 12 inch deadlywind. And pressure is at 500 PSI. I'll add that to my initial post.
I used Nelson Anarchy with a .679 SS Freak insert. That was a slight underbore.

Thanks! I am definitely happy with the results. I really only wanted 30 shots around 275. 38 is even better.

I do have a question. Does shoot down still apply here, even with a reg? Will I get less shots per 12ie if I shoot faster, or does the reg make it a non-issue?

I've never actually used a Stabilizer (although after seeing your results, I'm now considering it in the future), but definitely w/o it, if you're autotriggering or even just shooting faster w/o a few seconds between shots, you'll definitely see a decrease in shot count... again, someone else should answer regarding how the Stab affects the shoot-down

Again, very impressive #s; I might have to invest in a Stabilizer for the project I have in the works right now...

Great info! I'll be trying this set up once I receive my tri fluted hammer (hint hint Ryan) Do recall the temperature? Thanks for sharing.

I believe it was in the low to mid 80s here in Texas.

Yeah, I know about the shootdown unregged, but if the Stab got rid of that too, it would be even better. I don't shoot that fast anyways, but it's nice to know it wouldn't happen anyways.

I would highly recommend investing in one. It has made my Phanto, so consistent. A little more confusing of course, but the pay off is definitely there.

Ahh very co2 friendly weather, I bet mid to low 80s is cool for you guys! :)

Help me understand how the fluted hammer helps with this? Doesn't the increased main spring weight and lighter hammer behave much like the standard hammer and lighter standard spring?

Shoot down occurs for me but that's at much lower ambient temps than mid 80s. You'd have to be shooting pretty fast me thinks.
