Phantom re sale value sucks?

Why is it that phantoms are selling so low right now? I remember when you would only lose about $20 or so from retail. Anybody have ideas why that is.

the anticipation of the revolution. Maybe some cci fans are unloading phantoms/extra phantoms in anticipation of buying the revolution. There is also steadily increasing pump competition: the new Bob long pump, new (and old) ccm pump, the new traccer, dukies' work, etc.

The amount of phantoms has increased, the Revolution is coming out and something used is always going to depreciate in value if there is no high demand for it. It needs to be a good price to entice a buyer to buy the color that you have unless it's exactly what they want.

Mostly this, even six months ago phantoms were holding their value REALLY well. Then a bunch hit the market, and then some people decided they really needed the money and prices started dropping left and right

The problem with selling a used one for $20 cheaper than new is that a new was only $20 more. I'd be willing to say that the market for Phantoms is much closer to what it should be.

^This.

Also, you have to admit they've held their value longer and better than many of the other pumps out there right now

I mean it was a bit of an exxageration on my part with the $20 but i've dropped $500 into phantoms before and people were offering me less than $200. Thats just stupidly low. were not talking ions and tippmanns here
