Shotgun project - need design help on springfeed.

Hello!

I have been working on a new shotgun style body for the phantom, similar to DSG (poor man's DSG maybe ). It uses all phantom internals, except for the blot which is a modified CCI bolt, just a longer one for breech drop. It uses phantom grips also, so Jcurts and CCM grips fits. It will be loaded with a undermounted springfeed, the hole under the barrel.

Measurements and the complete hammer was taken from Siress, thank you

Now to the question, is there anything special you have to think about when you are using springfeed? Do you think my design would work, or do you have to have a special "ramp" for underfed?
Where do you find springs?

This is just a concept, nothing has been built yet, and I dont think I would sell any, just for my self.

Thanks in advance!

This one shows the internals

The dsg does not feed the last two rounds in the feed(you do a twist when you pump to load the last two)
Something Smiley did for my DLG, modified dsg, was to shape the ball pusher as a ball. This pushed one more ball up into the breach on mine. There are pics in the thread linked in my sig.

I see. Do you ever have pinching problems or any sort of feed problems with your DSG?

And anomoly, it seems like stuffy isn't taking work at the moment, but I'm not in a hurry so we'll see later on.

EDIT: And I may have to rise the feedtube a bit, even with the special ballpusher, it seems like it is plenty of room for atleast 2 balls in the verctical stack.

Great. I was a bit worried about that.

Pinching depends on the angle really. I have an unmodified gen3 short feed on my DSG and I never really break paint in it, but have "hung up" on the last two shots when I lost track before. Dun's ball-end pusher is a great improvement, but note that it does also cost you a ball in overall capacity (no big deal really). And you do still have one ball you have to rock-and-cock at the end of the feed.

If I were you I'd talk to Dukie about just getting one of his feeds and working your receiver around using it. It already looks like it would work with your design, and the Gen3's method of reloading is pretty slick. He's in the middle of a run right now so I doubt it would be an issue getting one.

Great idea! That way I dont have to trial-and-error, and maybe fail and have to re-machine the whole part. But I want the design finished before I order something
