Phantom Barrel and Freak Inserts

I have just bought my second phantom, and it has a freak bored barrel. It is not coming with any inserts. I have noticed that my local field piant requires one of the smallest detent rings.
Can I buy an old smart parts freak barrel kit at a discount and use those inserts with the phantom barrel?
Where do you suggest that I buy single inserts?
If I bought just two inserts, how should I determine the size? (I have a micrometer)

I have a .670 by tyMcneer, a .679, and a .682( both Smart parts) with me anytime i'm using a freak barrel.

The best way to size paint is with a sizer. I have one made by Mongo off here.

The easiest way is just to take a ball and drop it down your barrel. if it rolls out fast go a size down.

Why do you carry a .670? That seems really small. I have not seen one sold that small.

Some of us have really small (paint) balls. I have had rollouts out of a V1 Eigenbarrel using paint around here (14" long control bore of 0.676).

I carry a .670 because the Diablo paint my field has is extremely small it runs around 675 and i underbore just alittle.

detent rings are 0.670 and 0.674 at the smallest... so yes, you'd probably need Ty's 0.665 or 0.670. My local field paint was at 0.681-0.686, but recently its dropped to between 0.670-0.677 (same stuff, different batch?). I've been having roll outs on my GOG 0.675 (which I believe is the smallest they offer), and they're looking really bad (random pointy bits forming...).

I'll be playing a bit more before i settle on some Ty inserts...

I can use a .670 and still get rollouts here...

Using a .684... Smallest I've used, surprised others are finding smaller paint.
