Sighting Issues

So today I was finally able to get out and play (working retail makes it tough to be a paintballer ) and was using my Phantom in MSC setup and was having a really hard time gauging the placement of my shots even using a stock. Anyone got any suggestions to help alleviate this? I am contemplating a ghost ring but honestly don't know how much that will do in terms of fixing my sighting issues.

So, no to a sight of any kind? Or is that preference?

Everything in paintball comes down to personal preference, for me aiming with a phantom just took practice. After working at it, I got deadly with that marker. Try and setup a target in your back yard if you can.

When using a stock on my phantom, I usually rotate it a bit counter clockwise (so the feed tube is closer to your face) and aim straight down the barrel. A longer barrel might help you creat the muscle memory to sight in quicker.

if you think about it - sight picture and follow through is all practice anyhow - what works for you is what really matters

Long ago when I had more drive I would literally spend hours ghost loading, target shooting, snap shooting cans, snap shooting pipes (through and through), corner peeking, and thinking about my positioning. It was so bad that sometimes my friends would catch me walking through malls ghosting behind people, pillars, boxes, it was kinda funny =)

bottom line you have a small window of opportunity in most cases - so its usually best to train muscle memory and point shooting. Another method that works well for me is two shot - first goes and I follow it then send the second - only when I am not under fire of course. When under fire staying out too long == splat.

end of the day - HAVE FUN =P
