All this talk of the roundhead cocker threaded bodies, what about stainless??I know hard to work with expensive, heavy but how cool would it be?
Someone mentioned doing this before, but I seem to recall unreasonable expectations as to what people feel the work/material involved would be worth to them. It would be very cool, but pricey.
Carter bodies are stainless.Just saying in that perfect world that we don't live in it would be nice .I think blue will chime in.
The same thing happens whenever the idea of a limited or custom run product gets kicked around, especially with Phantoms. Someone asks for a speciality body/barrel/frame/pump kit, generates some interest, and everything falls to pieces the first time "hey I would totally pay up to $40 for that extremely difficult to machine part" is uttered. It's unfortunate really.
Just look at Avratech's stainless bodies. They are $90 a piece (with no idea on Josh's profit margins on the R7 and accessories) and might be easier than a Phantom body to machine.
I seem to recall KPCS mentioning stainless bodies earlier this year.
I'm imagining an all stainless Phantom now..
I wouldn't mind SS or a Brass phantom,
If some one where to do something like this what would our wish list be on something like this?
I will start it off,:
Cocker threaded(just for ease of barrels)
Now what else?
- ASP detent
- right offset stockclass (personal preference)
- integrated pump kit into the trigger frame (since this is a wish list and such) OR integrated vertical adapter (no more tiny screws on the frame, yay!)
- gauged valve
Haveblue will chime in on this thread shortly I am guessing. He is good like that.
