So bringing this thread back to life...

I got my micro last week and played with it this weekend. And it's awesome! The small form factor works really well for me, now all I need are the inserts.

The problem is, the o-ring groove O.D. is .777" which leaves a wall thickness of .0135" and that's assuming I can get it dead centered.

That seems awfully thin to me... or am I over thinking this?

No oring groove is needed for unfit mod barrel bore

That is correct (he should know, i think he has almost every set I've made) it's just a straight bore @.752 x 1.75 deep. The insert will just slide in like it does in the ifit adapter. When you screw the barrel into the body the it will hold the insert in place.

Sorry, my question was not clear.

I was referring to the o-ring groove on the barrel. Boring the barrel to .752 with a .777 O.D. at the o-ring groove will leave wall thickness of the barrel at .0125.

Oh that o-ring....
Never had a problem.
As far as getting the bore straight,I bore the barrel on a horizontal mill using a v-block strap clamped to a tombstone. This way I could indicate the barrel straight in the X&Z axis and check runout in the Y axis (front and back of ID bore) befor I bored for the inserts. A lathe is fast but the horizontal mill allowed for more accurate set up.

Ok. I have heard of people breaking their bored barrels (falling on them I suppose) due to the thin wall, that is what I was worried about.

Thanks for all the input Justin.
