Stripped Screw on vertical ASA HELP

TL DR

Stripped a screw trying to get my V ASA off to install a DT1 UC kit, need help.

I need some help, i recently got a DT1 UC kit which uses its own Vertical ASA. I began to remove the old ASA from my phantom and it was proving very difficult, and i managed to get the bottom one out but eventually stripped the top screw by accident. It's only after stripping the screw that i find out that somebody poured Loctite in there and now im stuck. i tried boiling water to loosen the loctite but it did not work. Can anyone help me out please?

Might have to drill that bad boy out. I had the same problem when converting a few of my team's markers as well. Good luck

Drilling is out. Easiest way is to file the head off. Once you get the button off you can use vise grips on the nub that is left. Just make sure you file flat so you don't get the trigger guard.

Are you 100% sure its only the screw that is stripped? I had a similar incident where both my allen and screw appeared stripped. I went to home depot and borrowed a higher quality allen wrenche and was able to get my semi-stripped screw to loosen.

thanks for the responses everyone, i dont think im gonna drill it because i have no idea how to go about that without destroying the trigger guard, and if i drill from an angle i might damage the original asa.

I may file it down if i have no other options.

it looks stripped, and my allen key skips when ever i try to turn the screw. so maybe ill go get a set of new keys and try again.

Does anyone know what the best way to soften the loctite is?

try a fresh key, press hard, twist slow, usually you can get enough grab to be ok and get it out

otherwise... heat is your friend to break the loctite, hair drier on hot, heat gun on medium, boiling water, they all will work
