Freak bore desired on stock Phantom barrel

Anyone know where to get a reliable freak-bore done to a stock Phantom barrel? Also, does the barrel get thin enough to worry about strength? I saw a post where someone talked about a freak-bore barrel snapping off in their hand...

Stanchy on here does it. The barrel in the phantom to the left <<< was freak bored by him. With the stock Phantom barrel you will never have to worry about snapping a barrel. That would be an extremely odd situation. Particular to a barrel that was too thin to bore to begin with.

Hope this helps.

It can snap if you take a dive straight on it

It has happened to me. If the barrel is reamed out slightly too large it can snap from even small bumps. The slight friction between the pump handle and barrel coming forward was enough to snap mine off. Stanchy does good work though.

I stand corrected! I forgot about that post idkfa.

To be fair, it isn't a problem if a competent machinist does the work, though I am still a little uneasy about it. The shop that did mine had a long run of over boring issues before he eventually shut down.

You will lose the last bit of barrel past the threads with a Freak bore.

I had a stock barrel bored by Nathan O'Dell snap off at the threads when being unscrewed.
