Thinking about a micro

Hey guys I've been thinking about putting together a micro phantom. I'm still going to run it the same as my full setup with a 13ci. right off the back of the valve and with stock class feedtube. My question is should I go for the micro with the 6" barrel and mini pump handle or should I just do the 8" barrel with full size pump handle? Is there any other changes to the gun that makes it an actual micro phantom or just barrel and pump handle size?

By the way I am about 5'11" and about 160lbs. Which do you think would suit me better?

Micro Phantoms usually have ten round tubes. I personally prefer the 8" barrel. It is easier to point and uses the stock handle.

Yea I'm good with the ten round feedtubes. I usually cut mine enough so I can screw in my tank anyways. Now as far as pump handles go, does the smaller one still feel okay, like does it still have a solid feel like the full size?

I gotta ask.

The whole point of getting a micro Phantom is so the gun is..well..micro. If you're going to run a tank and everything, why bother with a micro?

Well I'm wanting to get my son into this. I love my phantom and just wanted to basically have another one, just smaller. I run all mine with the 13 off the back, it just keeps it simple. The last thing paintball needs is to be more complicated, specially for a 12 year old who's never played before.

I even thought a 6" barrel with a full size pump might look cool, maybe have more of a shotgun look. I think aiming might be a challenge though with the new players. I mostly use muscle memory taking my shots.

My girlfriend is starting to play this season. She's used to shooting real steel pistols, so I figured a 6" would work. She actually preferred the 11" because it was easier for her to see where it was pointing. It basically went like this when I had her try different barrels:

6": oh yeah this is pretty nice
8": ok i want this one
11": nevermind. this one is a lot easier to shoot. I want this one.

She's using the UC kit, which is about the same size as the micro handle.

Honestly, I found that once I'd played with the micro pump handle, the full size one got tossed in my parts bin. It's a couple inches of excess size that I never use, and this way I get the option to swap my 14" for a 6" to play bunker tag.
