Phantom Makeover!

Hi guys,

I've had my phantom for a few years now and showing a few signs of wear and tear which isn't a problem.

However, in my inexperience when I first got the marker, I managed to bend the hardline (I know, I know, I'm an egit).

Anywho, I'm ordering a new hardline from Mike complete with the rubber orings that go inside but I'm from the UK so try to maximise orders when I can. For a 3 year old well used phantom, should I look at replacing any other parts? I know these things are really well built but wanted to double check.

I noticed a few scuffs and a bit of a scratch on my bolt, not sure how it got there, any way to make everything nice and shiny again?

Oh and final thing, when I'm putting TPC back together, anything I should be careful of?

Cheers for help guys!!

3 years old? Barely enough time to work the factory stiffness out of it! There's really very little that can/will wear out in a Phantom in that short of a time period. Might be worth keeping a spring/seal repair kit in your box, just in case you manage to get it run over by a truck or something. That has all of the parts that are subject to wear in the marker in it.

As far as cleaning up the bolt, you could polish it if you wanted to, but it shouldn't matter performance wise and over-enthusiastic polishing will stip the hard coat on the internals and make them more prone to rust in the future.

Spring/seal repair kit just in case but I wouldn't go using anything until I needed it.

When putting the TPC back in if it turns real easy take it all the way out, tighten the nylon set screw just a tiny bit and put it back in this will stop it from creeping on you.

Cheers for the replies guys!

Man I thought as much, the only wear and tear to this awesome marker is my own stupidity...not even Mike can produce a part for that...

Right-e-o, will pick up a spare parts kit while I'm at it. And thanks for info regarding TPC Mr. Green. I've always been terrified of screwing the lil bugger too far in and ruining it.

Have you ever noticed how its almost impossible to go to phantomonline and not spend a fortune?!!

I'm in the process of building an unnecessary and extensive shopping list.

Daaammmnn yooouuu phhaaanntttoommm!

Thanks again

If you're using a stock barrel, you might as well order an extra set of detent rings as well in case you lose one.

Mike started machining an o-ring groove on the TPC to hold it in position. It works better than the nylon screw and might make a nice little upgrade to add to your order.

How about a stealth aluminum hardline kit and total control bore barrel? Hint Hint.

Cheers for extra info guys!

Axel - Is that something I'd have to ask for from Mike as its very new or if I ordered a new bolt it'd come with it? (as in this

PumpHaus....I like your marketing style haha.

I'm very tempted seen as I need a new hardline anyway...any issues with compatibility with a PPS stabilizer? Also yours looks easier to remove than standard CCI one.

Also, barrel could be tempting. I find that most of the paint seems to run through my .684 insert though so .681 I'd be worried about breaks and whatnot.

It's this. Loosen the nylon set screw, completely unscrew the TPC, replace with this, gently 're-snug the nylon screw.
