I am in the process of buying the parts to build a dropout duckslided phantom and was woundering about barrels, sould I buy the 6 inch freak insert modified barrel they have on the site. Or buy a 6 inch Palmers brass barrel with wegdits, just want an opinion.

If you already have Freak inserts, then get the Phantom Barrel.

I would buy a small bore PPS barrel with wedgits if I didnt have freak inserts. With the duckslide you will have some extra weight on there already so the aluminum barrel might feel better.

Wedgits will not work on a CCI barrel. I used to know where it was on PPS old site but since they redid it I am no longer sure. The issue is the ball sits outside the barrel unlike say a cocker where it is inside the barrel prior to firing. The wedgits would have to be installed on the leading edge of the barrel.

I think that PPS offers a few different bore sizes also.

Just another option. Would not have as wide a selection as with inserts, but I've always liked a full barrel that matched paint better than any insert system.

And... I'm not sure, but the PPS barrel might have a smaller od, which could lead to the slide not sitting as tight on the gun.

Stick with the bored barrel with freak kit.

that easily solved by wrapping some electrical tape around the barrel like the mid bulge on the old Autocoker barrels.

Electrical tape is bad, with regards to friction, for a smooth pump stroke.

PPS offers wedgits on barrels they make for the phantom. They can't wedgit pre existing phantom barrels. I imagine they dent them and then make the threads over the wedgit.
