DF Phantom Ques

Hello

I currently have a VSC stock class Phantom that I'm thinking about getting a DF body for to start playing with a hopper. This is probably a stupid ques, but do I need to still rock and cock it with this body type? And do the bodies still have a mount for a sight? Its a bit hard to tell from the Wevo pics. How does this setup compare to a CCM pump modified autococker, like a Prostock?

cheers

You wont have to rock and cock no, and im not 100% sure but i believe they DO infact have rails, near the rear of the body. but i could be wrong on that one.

The site rail on the back of the marker is an add-on. It's fairly cheap, and can be purchased through any cci dealer, or from cci himself.

Rock and cock not necessary, I suggest center feed.

If you want to mount a sight, you need to buy a rail. They come in 2.5 and 5? inches. Smaller one is sufficient. Just remember the CCI ghost rings can't mount onto the dovetail rails, it only works on the SC feedblock.

Comparison as in...? They're quite the different animals.

Phantoms are much lighter, however, their pump stroke requires you to break it in. Sniper's pump strokes are smoother IMO, but the guns are bigger and slightly heavier.

And of course cockers can convert back to semi.

I just need the same 3/8ths mount that the SC one has for my armson sight. Its lightweight.
I guess I was wondering if they were competitive with a sniper style setup, especially since the autotriggering is built in. But I see some pro teams who pump with CCMs so I figured the Phantom was a step down, even open class. Its probably apples and oranges though..
Iron, you were there at Freedom's night right? Good playing with you...

BTW, anyone here use a Phantom barrel kit? Are they much better than just using the detent rings (even though they get bent and lost)?

Yeaa, that was me!

I cant live without my barrel kit, it's pretty much one of the only problems that you actually face with a phantom. Just get the stock barrel bored out and pick up some used inserts. After you get a barrel kit, tis smooth sailing!

Hey man

I have a Specter kit that rocks my Prostock, but crap, don't really feel like buying Freaks now too. Well, in case I do, who bores out barrels?

Never used a barrel kit for my phantom, never felt the need to after trying one, and I rarely use detent rings.

Nailpolish wedgits - no losing or destroying them, just reapply every couple months, and they fit all sizes of paint
