What was the temperature out?

Also... max pressure out of a co2 tank is 800 ish.... if it's cooler you get less pressure... if it's hotter you get a little more...
but Heebs... it's CO2.. if the tanks full and not tinging (ting ting ting as you hit the tank with a coin) then you are getting at our around 800 psi.... it's not hpa

Check the springs, check ball to barrel fit (if the ball would roll out of the barrel, then you are going to have a really hard time getting the ball up to speed), check to make sure the asa is clean (for shits and giggles).

Hm - I was using stinger with a stock Phantom barrel - I needed a middling ball detent to prevent rollouts.

As far as temperature..it was an indoor place, so it was comfortably warm, but I don't have any specific data.

Try a softer valve spring, and a harder main. If you get a kit, start with blue, work your way up to red.
CCI detents are not the best you can do. Look into having the barrel bored for inserts.
Make sure everything's tight.
Chrono.

Looking at the kit, it seems to come with a standard valve spring and three main springs (one soft, one normal, one hard.)

Where would I find a softer valve spring?

True Value, or ACE hardware stores. Make sure they fit right on the valve cap (no overlap), and the lenght is close.
