recommended Phantom upgrades?

I just got this rockin' phantom on E-bay for a steal. It is brand new.

Black Phantom VSC
Gagued valve
T-stock
Ghost Ring
15 round tube
Stock .45 Hogue grips
11" barrell
3.5 oz CO2

What mods are out there that you all can't live without? How would you mod this? Just keep in mind that I want to keep it stock-class, or be able to put it back that way easily.

I am new to the world of the Phantom, and look foward to taking my game to the next level by learning to use it effectively. Thanks for your help!

Personally, I'd throw on an M-16 grip, 10 round tube, take off the ghost ring and stock, use macro instead of hardline, run the 3.5oz. tank vertically, remove the pump return spring, and get some detent rings.

That's just me, that was also how I had my old Phantom set up, minus the gauged valve, and I never bothered with a harness system. I just put my tubes in my squegee pocket.

Anyways, all that gun really needs is a set of detent rings and you're ready to rock. Nice find.

a frantom barrel to use freak inserts instead of ball detent rings. besides that, nothing really to change.

Paint and CO2 are the only things you'll need.

Detent rings or a barrel kit of some sort (Frantom, J&J, Lapco, etc.) would help, but anything beyond that is something you'll have to decide for yourself based on how the gun feels to you when you use it. That's a nice looking setup, and it should work well for you.

Detent rings, paint and air are all you need. See how you like it before you start swapping parts.

okay. so rollouts are the biggest issue, huh? Good to know.

I really like the .45 grip frame, but was thinking about changing the panels to wood, or something else "custom" looking. A buddy recommended the CCM CZ grip frame, and some new panels for it. Any thoughts there?

Why macro instead of the hard line? Just cosmetic, or is it performance related Milky Spore?

Thanks guys. I am thinking long term, as I haven't played with it yet, and may decide to keep it as is after all. I just wanted to see what was popular, and what some others had done. Thanks!

BTW, are detent rings CCI, or are there multiple makes, or what?

CCM's grip frame is comfortable, but it's also one of those personal preference things. If you like it enough to switch, go for it.

I've never run a VSC with macro, though I suppose it would make it a little easier to take the gun completely apart. I've certainly never had any problems with a CCI hardline.

Phantom detent rings are made by CCI, though they can be picked up from a number of places. Factory direct, Wevo, White Wolf Airsmithing, and Doropaintball all stock them regularly.

Macro has more volume than the hardline, so you'll lose a few shots per 12g if you switch.
