Phantom Barrel leak?

Ok...I have just received my 2nd ( i have a VSC set up ) Phantom. I purchased off Ebay. The owner stated it was hardly used, and from the cond of it, I believe them, barely a scratch on it, inside and out.

So I unpack it, go grab some air and start to screw it on..ssshhhhhhhh...large leak out the barrel.

I have tried everything I know of to fix this...cup seal..o-rings etc...

Am I missing something??? Please help.

EDIT: It's a back bottle set up, if that matters.

Stock springs?

If the mainspring is too heavy it will hold the valve open.

Cup seal looked ok...and as far as I know the springs are stock.

As i said...it looks pretty much BNIB. I'll swap out the seal just to eliminate that as a cause. Please guys..keep the replies coming.

Figured it out. Had to take apart my other Phantom to see what was going on. The Retainer was not sliding on the power tube...it was stuck. Thanks for the help guys

if the cupseal is brand new, your pressure is too low, or you have a crappy valve spring
