Is Mike Casady/CCI a machine shop or?

I am wondering, since i came upon a site A.R.E. Manufacturing, Inc.
same street as CCI's address, one of the pics on there, shows phantom parts and complete phantom....makes me wonder, is Mike of CCI a machinist there, or is he just an assembler?

from its history web site

In 1987 A.R.E. Manufacturing, Inc. became the major machined part supplier of Component Concepts, the leading producer of premium pump paintball markers.

Edit: "In 1987 A.R.E. Manufacturing, Inc. became the major machined part supplier of Component Concepts, the leading producer of premium pump paintball markers." from A.R.E's history page.

Super EDIT: I'd originally had "I believe he owns both.... but I could be wrong" ..... then changed to the above.... and probably should have read your complete post

The way I understand it is that he does indeed own both

I figured Mike was a busy fellow, but not that busyy. If he owns both companies, wow. Good business practices pay off. That and it would explain why he's a "one man company", but is able to produce as many markers as he has. One man on the books, but everything is contracted out to his own, other company.

Looking for all Canadians on MCB, building a list by province. PM me to be added to the list.

He made pneumatic tools (I believe for the dental industry) before paintball guns. CCI, I think, also does other things aside from paintball, designing and manufacturing parts

He does not make all phantom parts, some are made by other companies. All phantoms are assembled by him at CCI though

Yeah the "dental tool" bit was mentioned in an article about the semi auto phantom... mind is failing as I can't remember the name... major brain fart.

right, the way i see it is, Mike assembles, and receives certain parts, and stocks up and sells them through his shop, but that means he's a 2nd party retailer, not the 1st party, so the costs of parts and such is taken down from his retail, to what he pays for them from A.R.E. MFG, who does them on a bigger scale, for the economy of scale to pay off handsomely, and it seems they do not make large profit on the parts, while Mike is making enough to keep himself in business as well as expand somewhat...it is possible that he and A.R.E. were allied from the beginning, since CCI was founded in 1987, coincindent with A.R.E. becoming the major machined part supplier...

I don't think that is an accurate statement, he is the 1st party when it comes to Phantoms because he is the only party. He owns the design and and IP related to the Phantom from what I have heard. Just because he outsources machine work does not make him a "2nd party retailer".
