freak configuration

I've been having not so good luck with stock barrel and detent rings so I am thinking of picking up a freak setup for my phantom but I hear the bored stealth barrels from wwa max out at .691, the original bore size of the stock barrel. Am I really going to encounter paint bigger than .691 to justify the extra cost of buying a freak back from wevo($50), finding an AA front on ebay ($20ish), and having to buy a modified pump handle ($17) or an undercocking kit ($55)? The freak kit's largest bore size is .695, and considering that paintballs are supposed to be .68 it seems a bit excessive to need anything that large. I would absolutely love to find a 12" or 14" Frantom barrel, but I can't for the life of me find one. Would the authentic freak be better than the Frantom anyways? (even though it would be supporting smart parts and their dream crushing team of lawyers) Look forward to hearing your thoughts

Wevo has the authentic freak in stock, with a larger pump handle to accomodate it. I personally could never stand the "Frantom" or whatever it was, so that's the route I'd go.

I don't have any problems with inserts for any three of my bored out barrels from Twinky or the two from m0ngo...

I cost me $30 total back and forth to get it bored out and $50 shipped used freak kit. No complaints from me ever since. I wuv me phantom.

FYI, I tried all the inserts since I was aware of the bigger ones not fitting and they all fit, but I've never had to use them once ever, I think out of the 20+ times I've gone paintballing using my freak kit, I used the .687 insert maybe twice, that's the biggest I've gone. The 684 and 682 get the most used 90% of the time.

I also put together a small mini freak kit consisting of 689, 687, 684, 679. Put this set together for about $20 bucks from used inserts.

Stock barrel is best, it's simple and functional, minimum weight.

im currently running a J&J that twinky bored for me. i normally run the .684 and .679. the J&J is an exceptionally quiet barrel and with the freak inserts it has to be one of the best barrels ive ever shot, aside from a palmers but it wasnt as quiet.

as everyone is saying a bored out stock barrel is your best option, i personally have a older frantom and i love it.

i love the frantom i bought from wwa. i usually shoot a 687, but i have jumped higher and lower. i had to use a 693 once. but other than that ive basically stuck with the 687...
