What does it mean on a phantom if....

When you cock the gun and it dry fires? I lost my main spring in a freak accident (pm me if ya got an extra one.) So i cut down a madmann autococker spring, and it seems to shoot fine and all, but I'm dry firing it trying to break it in and randomly it will catch the sear and i can dy fire. Is this a big issue?

Appreciate it,
Richard.

Main spring too long or stiff and it is pushing the power-tube back far enough the sear will catch. If it is only doing it parts of the time you might try just removing a half spiral or so and see if it stops. As far as getting another spring just call Mike at CCI they are cheap, plus he is just fun to talk to, but to make it worth the trouble and if you already don't have one get a parts kit.....you might need it if you already lost your main spring!

Not my fault that when you slide the body out of the power tube, they sometimes like to fly.

It's the blue main spring by the way. Couldn't get enough fps out of the silver one.

I second that motion.

I just got a Phantom in a trade and I swear that if I can't mod this one to my liking, I will never, ever buy another Nelson based marker ever again. Yes I have owned a Buzzard, a Grey Ghost, and a Bushmaster SI. Personally, out of those 3, I thought the Bushmaster was the better gun.

I would bet it was the heaviest also! I have the same problem love Phantoms and dealing with Mike is great but they like most nelson based guns are just too light for me to get used to.
