| p8ntd dawurld, an thensum  Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: NJ |  CCI's Acid Wash Finish Anodizing Does anyone know who does CCI's anodizing? I think their acid wash finishes are consistently the best I've seen, just wondering if it's done in, or outta-house? thanks, -baller |

| Rec Poster Join Date: Aug 2008 | I would try looking up how anodizing is done in general. It has something to do with the dye's used or something along those lines. | Stock Class Aficionado  Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: St. John's, NL, Canada | Not entirely on topic, but I was told that Mike uses a "wet" anno procedure for his acid washes, where both colours are applied in one go. For his new four colour acid urban camo, he uses a "dry" process where he does one colour at a time. Or something like that. |

| p8ntd dawurld, an thensum Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: NJ | I'm not too upset, just a bit disappointed with the black/blue acid wash on my newly finished Viking. I do have 10 more solid navy blue parts arriving soon, but still, just wish more blue made it onto the main body of the marker. Seems GruntBull isn't up to par with what it once was. The owner explained they did the black ano first, then take parts out the bath, flick on a masking agent or something, then did the blue before the agent dries? Whatever was done / not done, not enough blue made it onto the Vike's main body. Mike of CCI would be...? |
