Why? I suppose it might be slightly quieter than the stock one and not need detent rings but why? The stock barrel is IMO perfect and has zero rollout problems with the rings.

If you absolutely HAVE to have a PPS tube then I'd go for 11" and double-ported myself. Oh, and I'd have them put a bead front sight on it, I love the front post on my unibody phantom.

Phantom barrels are pretty darn good, I don't see a need to replace it.

I agree with the above sentiments. It is hard, if not impossible, to beat the stock barrel. I had two of mine (8" and 11") bored for Freak inserts to help with rollouts. Besides that, it is the best barrel I have used.

Actually, that is a lie... the barrel on my Super Stocker was pretty darn good too.

I am not a fan of SPs products, but it is hard to beat the Freak for usability with the Phantom.

Phantom barrels are one of the best stock barrels in the business, but as I say that, the 16" double ported Brass on my Sniper is looking at me... They're both really good barrels, it's just a question of whether or not you have the $50-$150 to spend on it.

I do wish you could put Wedgits in a Phantom barrel.

I have an 10 inch PPS brass .685, no porting. Like the stock ones better.

If you absolutely HAVE to swap the barrel, I'd try to find an old Phantom SP all American. Those are supposed to be the quietest phantom barrels ever made.

I had a 16" all american phantom barrel.

It was pretty quiet. I think it would be nice to have a heavy *** brass barrel though. I like a gun thats front heavy.

I'm going to get me a double ported .690 with wedgits

Maybe try an undercocking kit. That would add some nice heft up front. That and a vert 3.5oz would be perfect.
