Phantom on air?

So I'm trying to decide between a 3.5 or a 13/3000. I've read some posts claiming air gives increased performance and others claiming no difference as the phantom was designed to run on CO2. Is there a point in running a phantom on air? Is there any modification that needs to be done or can I just screw the tank right into the back bottle valve?

some people have velocity issues with air most dont.

i dont, i run phantoms on both co2 and HPA,its a personal preference situation. essentially just screw it in and go.

most common HPA set up is stock valve spring, blue mainspring 2.5-3 turns on the TPC.

by turns on the tpc do you mean the nylon screw or the standard velocity adjustment on the tpc?

When using HP air only you can go with a lighter valve spring and a lighter hammer spring which will give you a lighter trigger pull. I run mine with a 12g. I get around 40 shots which is plenty since I play stock class. I also have a 13 3000 that I use with a 12g adapter and asa. I use the stock springs and I have no velocity issues...

time to sticky some of this info

seems like this question comes up alot. need to sticky lighter pump stroke, running low pressure, running hpa, disassibly and reassembly, aftermarket parts availability. anything else that gets frequently asked?

tiny_the_tokin_bear where do you live by chance. if get really cold where you live at i say get HPA tank since would be best to have if not just stick with 3.5oz tank. but if hard to get co2 for tank then go HPA then too.

Thanks guys. I geuss I'll have to look into the preset tank regs a bit more. It's dissapointing that the myth regs have such a low output. I'm going to do a bit of research into the newer myth g2 regs, they're apparently adjustable but I can't find any documentation about their output range.

Usually I play indoor so temperature is not an issue but I live in Canada so the occasional outdoor winter game at the cottage may pose a bit of a problem with CO2.
