S6.5 velocity problem

Just got my 6.5 today. At first without even touching the IVG and reg, it was shooting 150fps out the box. Then after playing around with the reg, the max velocity I was able to get was 200ish. Then I had to turn the IVG so far in that the uncocked spring pressure would press on the poppet hard enough to cause barrel leaks. At that setting I was still barely in the 270s.

What's going on?

Is your reg set at 300?

With the IVG 2 turns in, I put he reg through a pretty wide range of settings starting from the outta-the-box setting. The max fps I was able to get playing with the reg alone was 200fps lol.

You guys think it may be because I put too much oil in the lower tube and slowed down the movement of the hammer? That's the only thing I can think of.

I'd try cleaning that oil out. I never run oil in the lower tube. How much oil did you put down there? You should Mel or Rod at CCM if you get a chance...

Also build a Reg Tester and set your Reg back to 300 psi...

Here are 2 links that will help you out

How to build a Reg Tester!

A Pressure kit or a Chrono - you NEED one or the other

Once you have all the oil removed from the lower tube and hammer set your Reg to 300 psi and make sure that your IVG is 3 complete turns in from flush and adjust only the IVG from there to get you required FPS...

With my S6 I put 2 drops of oil through the reg and never put oil in the back half of the lower tube and I also run my hammer dry...

If all else fails call CCM

Put a different reg on your gun and test the FPS, that will tell if it's a reg problem or gun problem.

So right out of the box you put oil in the lower tube? What else did you do to it before you aired it up?
