Major Problem - ideas?
I took my T2 out yesterday for some general play & had some pretty major issues develop - so I'm hoping I can get some ideas of where I should be looking, before breaking down the marker myself.
The marker just came back from CCM, after getting tuned and having the top tube replaced, and I've played with it since then, with no problem.
Yesterday, unfortunately, I had HUGE velocity problems. It chronoed fined at the beginning of the day (290 +- 3 fps) but within the first couple of games, I noticed a major decrease in velocity. I went back to the chrono & I was only shooting in the low 200s. The reg is definitely sweet-spotted (it was before & I haven't touched it since).
I also had some leaking issues with the macro-fitting at the ASA (so I did replace the original ASA with a CP one that I had on another marker - aired up just fine).
Over the course of about an hour, I attempted to get the velocity up - then it went way about 300 and back down again. I couldn't get anything that was even consistent to within 20 fps - with the IVG or barely tweaking the reg.
So, I'm very confused as to why this would become a huge problem now, after it shot fine two weeks ago - any ideas?
clean the hammer and bottom tube
Your regulator may be spiking, throwing you over the sweetspot and killing velocity. Try using another regulator to see if you can isolate the problem.
before messing with the regulator.. try taking the hammer out and checking for anything interfering with its operation.
It is the hammer. Clean it and the bottom tube. All will be better.
Chrono it with CONSISTENT paint - and let us know.
Like said above - clean the bottom tube. my S5 did the same thing. Per CCM tech oil (not lube) on the valve o-ring and piston and nothing (dry) on the hammer. When i cleaned mine it fixed my +/- 25 problem to +/- 3. It could be that the reg. was over lubed and it got to the valve or hammer.
I didn't have a chrono on me today, but I went ahead & did as much cleaning of the bottom tube as I could. It seems to have done the trick - I'll be in a better location to confirm tomorrow, but I am hopeful.
Search for a thread on this one - it fooled me for a time - but we got it figured out. Talked to Rod about it the other day - and they are working on a fix to this. However, a clean bottom tube is essential - just make it part of your cleaning ritual and you will have no issue with this again.
Yes this was the first real problem with the T-2. And it was operator error. I alway had Mags and they love oil and I always oiled my Phantom. So why not oil the T-2. So a drop here and there on the hammer great right? Wrong, went to the field started great and by the second game it looked like I could throw paint harder. Then I started to read about other people with the same problem in the first run of these. Cleaned it out and never had another problem. At this point I polished the hammer and just put a drop of oil on my finger and then wipe it on the hammer and thats it. It's almost dry but it's all it needs. Feyd..............
sounds like the same issue i was having ( http://www.mcarterbrown.com/forums/c...25-issues.html )
now I uderstand why TF said to clean it :D
