CCM uses light springs. That's what makes the lighter pump stroke they're famous for, plus good machining practices. If you want to sacrifice some of that lightness then simply get some stiffer springs.

Especially a stiffer pump return spring.

Or just hold the pump handle forward.

this is the way to do it. getting used to holding the handle forward will not only prevent your blowback and make your gun more accurate, but it will make you a better more efficient pump player. Having your hand on the pump handle means that's one less motion you have to go through to re-cock the gun. Instead of moving your hand from the reg to the handle then cocking it, your hand is already there ready to double tap the gun running at you.

Even if I'm posted on somebody, waiting for them to give me something, I have my hand on the reg, but my thumb is pressing on the back the the pump handle. Otherwise, hand is always on the handle.

you can see it at the chrono. hold the pump handle forward and shoot one it will be at a higher velocity because the only way the air can go is down the barrel. now shoot one without holding the pump handle and the velocity will be lower

If you don't want to use a return spring, you can always try the rubber band.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

That is weird that his friend's does blow back, though. Maybe he has a looser bored barrel? Try swapping things around, I'd be curious to know what would make one do it and not the other.

By the way, is your name from the Animorphs books? (lol)

I second splattt's comment. I use both a return spring and two rubber bands to smooth out the pump stroke on my sniper. Never had any blowback problems with that config.

This is actually fairly normal. I can put a swab in my barrel - hold the barrel down toward the ground - hold the trigger down and it will auto trigger. A light main spring and a well machined piece will make for quite a bit of movement.

The pump was made to be held forward - the only people that do not hold it forward grew up on semi's and not pumps.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If you really wanna be cool you can get your self a pair of small neodymium magnets (or two depending...) and mount them on your back block and body respectively. Great thing about neodymium magnets (and I think magnetism in general but don't quote me) is that there field decay exponentially as you move farther away. Using this effect you can apply a decent amount of force over a small distance to break the field but the rest of the pump stroke is butter smooth. Unfortunately neodymium magnets are brittle so you need to somehow prevent them from smacking stuff (like drill and embed them into the block and body).

I've always been a pump player, and I like to keep my hand on the reg most of the time. You only need a follow up pump if you can't hit the guy on the first shot.
