CCM Regulator question

My S6 has been acting a little strange lately. I needed to adjust the reg all the way out and crank the IVG pretty far in - I'm guessing 7 or 8 threads - to get the velocity to 280 fps. I figured I had a regulator issue, so I followed the Pumpenstein instructions, which are very good. I did notice that my reg requires an autococker valve tool to remove the Regulator Pin Retainer. I think that was a good idea.

When I did remove the regulator pin, this piece of "something" came out with it:

It is kind of like hard rubber or soft plastic. Here is how it compares with the regulator pin:

Is this something I need to look at replacing, or was it just some goop?

All of the o-rings and everything else in the regulator looked good, so I re-lubed the parts and reassembled the reg. The regulator sweet spot is still with the adjusting screw all the way out, but now the IVG in the marker is okay at only 3 1/2 to 4 threads in.

it may have travled through your airline, because there is nothing in the reg that looks like that. Also, that would probably cause your reg/ivg issues.

Thanks guys!

I wasn't sure if it was some sort of plastic holder or guide for the reg pin that was worn, but I'm glad to hear it was just a piece of debris. Of course, now I wonder how it got all the way up into the pin area?

Keep on pumpin, my friends!

Agreed - Check out the reg pics in the manual. That stuff should not be there. I don't think that is teflon tape - it looks like hot glue or something. Who cares - get it out - clean it up - and reassemble. Good on you for assessing the problem!

If it were me - take it apart, clean it with alcohol - lube it back up - and put it back together. Use a reg tester and set it at 300.

Thanks TF!

I set the reg output to 300, but I still need to crank the IVG pretty far in to get the velocity to 285. Is it possible I have a worn spring or something? My S6 is about 3 years old, after all.

clean your lower tube and check to see if maybe your tank reg is creeping

Thanks, Dios. I'll disassemble my lower tube and clean it thoroughly once I get my valve tool back from my teammate. Hopefully I'll be able to see if there is anything wrong in there when I do. My Guerrilla Air tank reg output is rock solid.

BTW, we had a blast playing against you guys in Vegas last weekend (Fallen Legion). Congrats on your national ranking!
