Cold weather kicked my S5's a$$!

So we had a quite cold day today in Florida today, 50 F during the day with 25-30 MPH winds making it feel like 40 F. My S5 wouldn't shoot The valve was sticking open. I have a vague understanding of the workings of the marker, but is that going to be common in cold weather if it is sprung "lightly"?

Thankfully it's not cold here often. Last weekend the gun was a beast, changing 1 FPS over the chrono in 10 shots. It was about 65 and sunny last weekend and the gun was shooting amazing.

I guess the S5 will have to stay in the gear bag when it's cold out

Oh ok, maybe it's time to break her down and give her a cleaning/rebuild.

Ha ha ha, my blood's thinned out, I've been in Florida since 1988.

Read the manual. Clean the bottom tube, reset the reg to 300 PSI, and set the IVG at 3 turns in from flush. Light lube (no grease) on the hammer in the bottom tube or let it sit dry.

You will be fine.

Next time - simply turn the reg pressure up and get the valve to close faster.

Yeah, I thought about doing all that, but prior to this weekend the marker shoots amazing. I didn't want to touch what was once working before

Up here in Canada, we run the hammers dry and make sure that all static and dynamic o-rings have a lighter lube in them specifically because it is cold.
It can get as cold as 0*F here when we are playing.
Read TF's manual too, has alot of good info in it that can help you
