If people are too stupid and naive to read carefully before taking action then that is on them. Why should the seller's ad have to be literally spelled out clearly for dumb folks? Why even consider it a 'rip off' or some scam? I mean honestly, if the specific item is listed and noted regardless of font size then no one should complain.

Yep.. betting before even reading the description. Sure the picture of the marker is misleading however the title should throw a red flag and the description should certainly make you understand that you are not buying a T2 but just a barrel.

I do wish that I knew the winner of this bid because I have some awesome snake oil that cures just about anything that I would like to sell them.

I think the guy is a genius for doing that... the stupid thing is the buyer is prolly going to leave him bad feedback.

I had a friend who would sell custom spanner wrenches for cameras on e-bay as a kind of running advertisement for his business. He sold them no reserve. He clearly stated in the description (and this was the point, to get camera guys to go to his web site) I sell these on my web site for $35 shipped. People STILL would bid over $35 for one. DUH.

I knew a guy who sold his X-Box Box when the X-Box first came out.

He picked it up from the store, clearly listed the box on eBay as an X-Box Box, described the item as the box that an X-Box comes in, and someone still bought it for more than the MSRP of an X-Box.

I'm constantly getting the feeling that I could make a lot of money if I'd quit dismissing ideas as "too stupid"...

Same here. What I toss away as an idea might be something that a million people might be interested in. Gotta stop doing that

Honestly, if 15 years ago someone had pitched an idea to me to bottle and sell water, I'd have told them that no one on earth would pay $1.00 for a bottle of water when they could get perfectly good tap water anywhere for free...

...and boy, would I have been wrong...

Certain dealers who are respected here do the same damn thing on eBay.

The fake grass square that people have their pets 'use' when they live in an apartment and can't get home reliably, I thought of that a few years before seeing that in a store. Reason I didn't pursue it? I thought it was stupid, but apparently not as stupid as I thought.
