Question CCM Halfblock Hammer

So a while back I bought this halfblock lower-tube kit for a cocker.

I finally got around to installing it, only to realize that something isn't quite right. The slot on the hammer seems to be a bit longer than the slots in the other non-CCM hammers I have. In fact, the slot is milled so far back that there is an opening into the hollow portion of the hammer.

Anyone have a clue what's going on? I'll try to post some pictures later to better explain.

If you are installing this on a halfblock gun this is normal. They are milled like that on the half block kits. The small opening will not effect anything.

If you bought the set from CCM directly, you can have full confidence that it is as designed. Their QA is second to none, in my experience.

If you bought the set from a tinkerer with his own lathe and home workshop...could have been "experimented on"?

No, it is new. The slot in the hammer goes back much further on the hammer than all of the other slotted hammers I own.

And yes, I realize the hammer is longer. That's not what I'm talking about.
