Yep, I noticed the similarity but it doesn't feel the same to me. Upcoming project Bill?

The hardest part about making an auto pistol is getting the frame where it belongs all the way to the back.

The older pistols were more correct I think.

The getto duck was just about as close as you could get.
I think a rebuild into a Desert Eagle would be nice. Aluminium of course.

Is that my old GD? Good to see she is still free of cracks.

A functional DE huh? Teasing indeed.

Actually this is a little more the thing:

The mags weren't the best system either on the GDs either, to put it mildly.
IMO, it's like building a formula one body for a pinto engine.

I'd love to see an aluminum body for the TPX that's solid except for a sideplate that lets in the guts like this:

That way it could have a front side dropout for the 12g.

I had the link for that picture because I noticed from a prop one that you could also make a firefly pistol that held TPX valve and reg. The 12g would move to the grip. they were to be my first strike guns and dueling pistols... Just no time!

See, I don't think my TPX feels anything like a 1911. The 1911 is way more comfy in hand to me. The TPX points at an odd angle while the 1911 is pretty natural. It's true though that we all have different hands.

I also can't stand the feel of a Glock they just don't point naturally for me, while the XD series is perfect.
