Hey guys,

I'm currently having trouble finding a good efficient quiet gun.

CCM recommends 350psi, however it's very farty and inefficient. If I lower the reg pressure (and it starts sweetspotting at around 290 psi..) it is quiet, but extremely inefficient. Getting 90 or so shots off a 13ci.


Ideas?

Double check your reg tester and really go slow as how much pressure is set. Then slowly bring in your IVG to make velocity. Also polish your bolt and make sure it's sliding freely. I'd try 325 PSI and go from there. I've never set up a 6.5 but have an S-6. And contrary to popular belief there is a difference! Just go slow no big turns one shot at a time. You don't really 'sweet spot' at 6.5. To truly run the reg at its most efficient is to run the marker at over 300 FPS.

Set it at 300 - two turns in on the IVG - and tweak it to get greater efficiency.

I have to tell you though - I have never heard a CCM with a modern (non-delrin) valve pin fart. I have heard it get chuffy (too much air escaping) - but not fart.

Something seems odd about that comment.

It's definitely farty. I managed to catch tf's comment before the end of the day, and I had about 100 rounds left.

I started it like this:

Ivg two full turns from flush.
CCm refulator adjuster flush with bottom of reg.

As I turn up the pressure the velocity immediately starts going down. So I back it up a little bit and find the highest velocity possible using the reg. (which was about 260 or so)

However I'm still getting the same 100 shots per 13ci tank.

I am a little lost on this one. Sorry. Cal Rod on Monday and see what he has to say. It makes no sense to have the top end of your FPS be at 260 FPS - it also makes no sense for it to be farty at 350.

Have you tried breaking down the reg, cleaning, and giving it a good lubrication?

I had slight issue with sweetspotting. But now that ive got maybe 2-3 cases through it and a number of days playing with it. It sweet spots at 295psi and only 2 turns in shooting 280fps.

How effecient is it?

I usually use a 50/45. But i played this weekend with a 13/3000. I was getting about 170-175 per fill.. Now it was cold (25-30 degrees).
