T2 shooting hot. What am I doing wrong?

A fellow teammate's T2 was shooting under 230 fps and I remembered reading something about it on the forums, so I volunteered to take a look at his pump. The thing was so dirty, it had paint and gunk in the least likely places.

I did a complete teardown and cleaned/lubed everything as per TF's maintenance videos. But now, I have an odd issue - the T2 won't shoot below 300, and that's with the IVG screwed out flush with the body. If I screw it in, it'll go up as high as 340 fps.

The reg was initially sweet-spotted at 300psi, so I cranked it up to 350, as per what I also read on the forums. Still the same deal.

I'm at a point where I am thinking that I might have reassembled the marker incorrectly.

Suggestions?

Well.
1) Turn in the IVG about three turns
2) zero out the reg and slowly adjust up
3) once the marker hits 300 FPS, stop.
4) take note of what the psi on the reg is.
5) profit
