It's been awhile since I did that function (I dunno if it even does it on the free version to be sure). The key thing is that your field has to be conducive (no tree cover). Honestly, it would be a good idea to take a good field map like that and pre-game take your measurements with a Laser Rangefinder, and mark them on the map.

I have heard of airsoft players using flashkill's as single shot protection. It gets destroyed but saves the lens.

Wow, I've never seen a flashkill in person. I figured they'd be sturdy enough to take an impact. I was actually worried that the impact may cause the flashkill to scratch the lens.

As for protection, I believe mosts magnifying firearm optics can take a hit from reasonable normal paintball distances. As for close range shots (under 20ft) you might be pushing your luck. But, if you're playing with FS rounds, you really should be working on your ability to remain at a distance.

Trijicon Flash Kills are made out of aluminum. I would like to think they would last for more than one hit. Especially at $175.

They don't make them for my 1-4x24.

Are they? The only ones I've used were from Aimpoint. I used to have a box of them laying around but they disappeared after a move. I'm fairly certain those were plastic. I certainly wouldn't want to clean paint out of one.

Cheap too.

That's exactly what I was thinking I would have to do. I'm sure I will find other uses for FSR, but there is one field specifically, during the big games that gets stalemates around the foot of this big hill(people sit in the city and long ball across the base of the hill instead of moving). I hope to FSR them into the trenches.

As far as disposable flashkills, I remember the airsofter's I asked saying something about $20 dollar ones. I didn't ask what material, but it made them feel confident to spend over $200 on their optics.

I was more concerned with FSR's ability to maintain their fps over distance( a 75' shot with a FSR still feels like a 5-10' shot with reg paint) and friendly fire(like when you sling the gun to use your hands).

That sounds like fun!!

In regards to lens protection and the risk of incoming FS rounds- I've only had an FS round fired at me once (it was a miss), in three Living Legends. Also, I suspect that due to their higher fragility against hard surfaces, they'd likely present less of a risk than a paintball at the same impact velocity.

Sometime you should try an all pistol game, with most of the other team shooting FSR. They definitely feel different

You know I may try out one of the dovetail to Angled weaver rails that keebler posted. I barely remembered that I should be able to mount a cci rail with little problems to my gun.

For those shopping for adjustable picatinny rails, Tiberius announced version 2 of their FSR. Tiberius, for some really strange reason, posts next to nothing on its own Forum. They post almost exclusively on their own Facebook page. There isn't much information there but it does say that the new one is 20% lighter, 30% shorter, and has a 9 degree elevation maximum.

I would have to see and, more importantly, actually use one to know whether it is better than Killjoy's APR (version 2). I suspect that even with the Tiberius having lost some weight and size it is still bigger and heavier than the Killjoy. No mention of price but Facebook does say it is available for immediate shipment.

I scrolled through the announcement comments and found one asking whether they had also fixed the "sway" in the rail. That leads me to believe that the first batch of rails probably did have that problem because I apparently wasn't the only user to get one that had play in it. The good news is that problem seems to have been fixed in the later iterations.

Competition is good for all of us. Congratulations to Tiberius for bringing out what would appear to be an improved version of its FSR.
