| Idiot Fanboy. | My understanding is that they will be sent out to the owners once they are done. Bill would have to confirm that though.

We may just end up buying some ready made flat rails and call it good. I want to make something adjustable but thats going to have to wait.

I vote for flat rails. With all these units from the first batch out we will be able to do some good sight testing and figure out some good methods. I am tossing around some ideas for some custom, distance and arching paintball friendly iron sights.

In all honesty Bill a standard flat rail would be just fine. You are going to need an adjustable riser for any optic system if you plan to shoot these at long range.

I know I am going against the grain here but cant you also (somewhat) learn to shoot FSR without the riser? Yes, it makes your life easier but as you get accustomed to the marker / round cant you just guesstimate what angle you need to tilt the marker (up or down as the case maybe) in order to get within proximity or even on target?

I'm sure you could but beyond 50 yards without optics you are guessing. In my mind, repeating your successes is the hallmark of proficiency. Guessing is not a part of that equation. At least in my experience it isn't.

You can learn to shoot first strikes without a riser rail, but why would you want to? I started using them when they were introduced and that's the way we shot them before the adjustable risers were introduced. The problem is that it's not like shooting a.308 an inch or two high at slightly longer range. For a first-strike rifle sighted in at 50 yards, first-strike holdover at 100 yards is measured in feet. It is impossible to shoot accurately with any consistency at long ranges without some kind of adjustable rail. Shadawg's right on this one. Just put a good, black picatinny rail on the top and let people choose their own sight or optics.
