Thanks! As much as I wanted to go with the wood, the more I think about it, and handle the SR1, the more I'm glad I went with the less expensive stuff. The fit of the buttpad isn't stellar, but that's really my only complaint. It's tough, lightweight, and if I manage to destroy it, a replacement is only $45 away .

I was also thinking setting the sr-1 up on a tripod with a larue mount would be pretty useful.

In this case the entire weight of the rifle would be torquing on the barrel nut...

Maybe a telescoping monopod would be a good choice over a tripod. It would be much less weight and still provide support. You could also lean with it, set it up so you can lean out around a corner and take a shot.

UV HALO if you want to pm me the list and updates as you have them, I'll gladly insert it into the first post of the CCM SR1 sticky.

I didn't see this post earlier.

One of the fields I approached ultimately decided to allow FS rounds with a fee. They weren't contracting for a specific field paint so, the refs are used to a varying selection of colors on the field.

Honestly, I don't think it's too much for a ref to handle. In the case of Pev's it appears to me to be a matter of "Player Interest Vs. Desire to sell the special field paint" and unfortunately, in my area, there hasn't been a huge amount of interest, even after other players see me using them.

I can subscribe to that. Paying a special fee for the round.... if that would make it more accepting.

Where this could get real fun would be as a designated tank kill switch popper!

I could see a bunker being rigged with a siren that is triggered when hit too, but how would you keep the normal balls off it?
