I'm not sure about the barrel, I think it's from the same batch, it may be different because of the shape thus the light will cause a change in color.

CCM has sent some parts i made to chico, and i ordered a few other parts for my T2's:

The gold parts were spot on, but the green turned out a bit darker. (cram n jam, slot blocker, ccm fittings)

Now there is a good explainable reason for this color variation. It all has to do with the dye. Recently i have been looking into anodising, and have a small setup for anodising small parts. Some of my colors are gold dye, and light green. The problem with the gold dye is that it does not take well to the part, so a good soak of 20 minutes is required to get that deep golden color. With the light green, a 5 minute soak will do, but if you keep the part in longer the color will go darker. From my expierence so far, dark dyes color faster than light dyes.

Because the duration of the coloring is not always the same, the anodising layer may be a little different, the finish, etc. It is very hard to get a perfect color match.

So I got a quote from Chico for 2 pcs. T2 body and reg for $75 + shipping. This for a gloss pewter color though but isn't that a lil high? I thought anno (based on dealers here) is around $10 per pc and maybe $5 for gloss per pc. Something like that.

Or have they spoiled me? Lol

Yeah you were spoiled. Most industrial anodizer's I have used are all minimum of 120 bucks for up to ten pieces. You still are getting a deal at the price he quoted.

This says a lot about the consistency of the process used by the anodizer
Please just know by no means is that the standard at all. That was just good luck.

You where spoiled.

Chico for as long as I have been with CCM is straight up and well worth the money, that is why we opt to go with them. Besides they are possibly some of the nicest, most professional people you could ever hope to deal with.
