G10 45 panels

SOLD

We ran a set of G10 panels today just to see what they machine like and what they look like also. They are more dense (57 grams) than the delrin (45 grams)

They are a pale green kind of like a sickly greenish. This is its natural color btw. They are a little darker x2 than what the pic shows.

I doubt we will run anymore unless the zombie crowd wants them.lol

Looks like it turned out nice.

The material machines ok . It is harder on tooling. The machine time is about the same as delrin.
here is some info:

G10 fiberglass boards are made of a special glass epoxy laminate that has extremely high strength. G10 fiberglass is used in marine applications due to its superior strength, moisture resistance, and excellent electrical and fire insulation.
Fiberglass boards make excellent non-corrosive backing plates for high load deck hardware or bond to engine room bulkheads to hold mounting brackets. G10 boards are sold in 1/4 and 1/2 inch thickness.

G-10 is similar in strength and density to starboard, but because it is formed from epoxy resin, it bonds easily using most two-part epoxies.

Hello Bill. Have you attempted a matching pump handle? Or would it be not worth it since it is denser.

No we haven't. It would have to be bought in tubing form and made like our CF handles. Unless you could give it some crazy milling pattern I wouldn't see it as a big seller. Especially at $35 a foot. Actually that is cheaper than the 1-3/4 acrylic that we use for some of our handles.

lower price

Also used in large railguns as a rail backer. :D

I really like natural G10. Quaint looking, like canvas phenolics, but a whole other level of mean. I'm not a fan of flat panel 45 grips, but I'll be thinking about something to put these on.

Ahh itchy itchy, I hate when we run that stuff.

However it looks good though........

I really like the real steel G10 panels but I just can't bring myself to pay that much for them.

Hogue make some that are not too pricey but I'll stick with my rubber grips.

I need these.
