Any easy way to remove the pump guide rod pictured?

Blow dryer and very padded vice grips.

2 pennies vice grips and a lighter

Sandwich the rod with pennies then clamp your rod use the lighter to heat the rod dont worry anno wont get affect then twist the rod off

I was going to get it powder coated but decided against it. Especially since I might be picking up an 6.5 tomorrow
