T2 "Metal Clink" Noise

I just got my T2 in the mail and when I cock the gun, it makes a metal clink, only to the point where the bot pin hits the back of the hammer.

Is this normal?

I would imagine it has something to do with the sear.

I "made" a video regarding the sound. You can't hear it as well, but at least I attempted to get my point across.

On another note, has anyone ever seen this bolt before?

Thanks for all the help!

Is this your first CCM marker? Have you detected any functional problems, or is it just the sound that's bothering you?

What you are hearing may be the sound of the sear clearing the hammer lug and "clicking" into the ready position. The sound comes from a combination of the sear hitting the hammer and the sear dropping onto the brass trigger bearing. Definitely inspect all points of wear for signs of obvious damage.

If you're sensitive to it, you could try pulling the material off 4-6 q-tips and stuffing it inside the sear spring. I've found this deadens vibration a small amount.

In some cases the T2's A/T cam can jiggle a little which also makes a tinkly sound.

Not sure if this helps. Call Mel early and often. FYI, that bolt doesn't look familiar...if it's not stock, that could well explain any functional issues. I'd recommend getting a new bolt on general principal.

Is it new or used? Sometimes there is a metallic clink when the bolt pin meets the hammer, that is normal. That looks like a bolt for a S6.5, does it stick out of the back of the gun? The bolt for a T2 should be flush with the back of the sled.

Edit*
Watched the video, the last owner put a bolt from a S6.5 in your gun. Probably to make it easier to get the bolt out. Whether or not that is what is causing the problem I cant say. Sometimes I hear a rattle that turns out to be my feedneck collar.

Thanks everyone, the gun is definitely used and it looks like the 6.5 bolt for sure. It sticks out a good amount and doesn't have any o-rings on the bolt itself which made me question if it was some aftermarket bolt.

The sound may in fact be the sear clearing the hammer lug and "clicking" into position. I just didn't expect it to be this loud for some reason.

This will be my 3rd CCM gun; I've had 2x S6's prior.

I'll definitely look into a T2 bolt though for sure after seeing the 6.5 in there. Although it's probably not doing any harm, I'd rather have the correct parts in the gun.

When I did take the hammer spring out, I did notice it was quite heavy, does this sound about right?

Second thought that bolt looks weird. Does it have the CCM logo on the back? The 6.5 bolts were longer but flat on the back end not dimpled/stepped. Looks like whomever had it before you tinkered around with it, if you call up Mel ask how much stock T2 springs are (probably aren't the stock springs in it either).

Yeah, no logo on the back, there is room for an allen key though.

I was also told the sear spring may be heavier than normal which is causing a much louder noise.

Apparently it's some custom made bolt that doesn't have a slot for the detent.

The new bolt can be shared between the S6.5 and T2 because it has the three slots cut for the different detent positions. This looks like an older T2, see frame, so it probably would have had an older bolt.

Yup. Not a CCM bolt nor is it a CCM bolt that someone modified. There isn't a detent slot. I'd like to know what the pump stroke is like with that in there. I would imagine the ball detent, if it hasn't been sheared off by the bolt yet, is getting jammed up under the bolt making it "stick".

Yeah, the detent is very minimal to say the least. Undoubtedly I'll need to invest in a few until I get a new bolt.
