Ok made ya look!

Seriously what do you guys think? Disposable 3D printed rifled shells? Does anyone have a 3D printer? Whose gonna be the first? Would disposable shells be awesome or what?

shooting out of plastic is kind of a turn off for most people i believe, especially on a high end marker like this.Sorry for the off topic: were there ever any magfed plans for he sr1? Also, how do you keep your shells from flying on the ground

I don't think it would be as economical to make them using a 3D printer. Most printers aren't exactly quick.

You'd be better off to turn down stock tippy barrels or something there's an abundance of those and you could probably get 2 out of 1 barrel, maybe 3 depending on length. Then when you're done spending hours on a lathe (wouldn't be too bad me thinks) send em in a big batch to get annodized at a mass anno plant (one local to me does huge runs of solid colors for various companies, and because they tag your order in the same bin as others it's cheap)

I have had a brief conversation with a mold maker about making disposable shells.

I don't know if that would become a reality. There would have to be a lot of guns out there.

Well actually I contacted HH about getting some rifled stock tubing and they really didn't want to play ball. To be quite honest, I don't think they understood the concept. If anyone knows these guys it would be helpful. I may just send them a shell to better illustrate what I'm looking for. I like my CCM barrel way to much to replace it so naturally I thought a rifled shell would compliment it. Would it work or compliment the FSR? Who knows

Given the fact that they may not play ball, why not go for desposible 3D rifled shells. Or just 3D printed shells. What is there to lose? I don't care if my shells are plastic as long as they work and are economically cheaper to produce.

they don't have to be in plastic you know, do it with shapeways or something and metal is possible, just gotta test it until it's right and you can use it forever. estimating about 20 bucks a shell? but you can get em rifled.
