delrin sear?

so i was polishing and cleaning my cousin's s5 (which has the 86 slider) and saw that he had a delrin sear.

after putting it back together and tuning it i was surprised how smooth it was. if i used a delrin sear in my 45 frame, will the pump stroke be smoother?

It's the plate. The sear is metal. Well mine is. If the sear was delrin wouldn't wear fast?

That's what I thought but I remember seeing a Delrin sear

It did have some serious wear on it towards the edge where the lug would disengage

I would imagine the sear would be pretty worn since the lug is harder material than delrin. I don't think a delrin sear would make the pull smoother, anything is possible though. A polished roller sear and lug would make for a crisp pull though.

I doubt the sear will make much if any difference at all in the pump stroke. The slider plate is what is delrin the sear itself should still be steel. Stainless can be polished mirror smooth and will provide very little sliding resistance and great durability. Someone may have made a custom sear for it but I would not want a plastic sear unless I wanted to swap them out a few times a day.
