Anodizing question

Why haven't I seen any of the newer CCM's anodized? I mean I haven't seen any custom anodized T2's or S6.5's or even J12's. I mean after posting a recent thread about getting a luxe and extreme paint prices I realized I'm better off playing pump, plus I think I like pump more anyways.

Lately I've been wanting to pick up a T2 or S6.5 but wanted to get it anodized into a fade. I'm not too familiar with anodizing but I know if you remove a certain type of anodizing it can ruin the gun in someway? Sorry if this is a stupid question I don't really know anything when it comes to this topic...

It has more to do with the fact that the stock ano just looks really good. There is no reason that you couldn't get a fade done on your ccm. We could certainly do it for you.

Because it is not covered by the warranty.

I thought that was a given. Yes it would absolutely void your warranty.

Getting good, unique anno done on a ccm will cost $250- $400 depending on how fancy you want to get. You will not be able to recoup that money when you eventually sell the gun.
A used ccm can be bought starting aroung $450+. So fancy anno or a second ccm????
To hoard or not to hoard, that is the question.

If you want to re-anodise a marker you will have to strip the old layer off before it can be re-anodised. This proces eats away the layer, and thus material, and if not carefull can mess up tolerances. Then, it can be re-anodised.

If it's a first time re-anno, it should be ok if done by somebody who knows what he is doing. But i would not anno a gun over and over, because that will really mess up tolerances.

However, due to the fact that you are altering the gun, your warranty will be void.

Your best bet would be to call CCM and see what they can do for you, allthough fades are not what CCM offers, they might be able to work something out that is to your liking. As far as i have dealt with CCM, their service is second to none. But if they decide that you won't get a fade from them, well you could try the re-anno route at the risk of losing your warranty.

Personally i'd go for what they have on offer (hint: they do custom lasering too!) and choose a nice color combination.

CCM only does the stock colors, unless Mike/CCI does the anno work, I think now and then CCM sends Mike some markers to finish.

CCM will not do any custom anno.
