Bill / Rod, I have a Series 5 Mech and I am wondering what the order is for putting in the blue valve, set screw, and the red retainer ring? I completely cleaned the gun the other day and got a lot of the blackish oily gunk out of the lower tube (never had the lower apart since I bought it brand new) and I put everything back together the way I took it apart but I am getting a leak down the barrel. Even when the hammer is cocker, it still hisses slightly. Should I use oil or Shocker lube on the oring of the valve? Thanks. Slinger |

| Seasoned Member | maybe your valve is fine but you need a new stem? take out the stem unscrew the cup seal cap. flip over the seal....and put back together and gas up, it might just be the seal. if the stem is delrin or seal is white call them for a new no farty stem of love |

I would still like to know if I should tighten the set screw on the valve first and then tighten the red lock ring or do it the other way. |
