That is great Snow.

Okay - I checked my T2 v. S6 today.

I simply set both at 300 psi output on the reg and the IVG at 290 fps. Same barrel, sizer, and paint. Both had the same tank 22 CI with Myth reg.

8.33 psi per trigger pull on the T2
14.00 psi per trigger pull on the S6

Wow - that is a lot of difference. I will next try to keep the reg the same on both markers and try again.

That is a big difference. Like a 50 shot difference at a 1000psi right? Math was never one of my strong points.

Yeah - it is substantial. You could likely get 325 shots on a 22 CI on the T2.

The S6 would get about 190 shots.

That is a ton.

Any idea on what could be done to get the S6's number up?

Peace

DCB:

Did testing again today - I used the T2's reg, same barrel, same paint, pretty much the same speed (as close as I could get it) and found the numbers to be just about the same.

The T2 was 25 percent more efficient. It has to be either the hammer or the Spring difference.

I will start messing around with that.

I want to take 9 grams off a S6 hammer and try that next.

Would changing to T2 internals work?
Let us know your findings... if a new spring would do it that would be great.
Thanks for all the work!

Peace

DCB,

It is the same valve, Valve pin, valve spring, and IVG. The difference is in the hammer and spring.

and - it is not the weight of the hammer...

I added .5 ounces to the T2 hammer weight (it takes a cocking rod) and it did NOTHING to the efficiency that was noticable with my crude measurements.

It has to be, then, the spring. Now wouldn't you love me to tell you that you just need to buy the spring for a T2 and your S6 would be more efficient.... um no.

I dropped the T2's spring into my Six and got a LOT more effiency - because the ball was going about 2 feet. Crank in the IVG - nothing. I could have run it at a different pressure to figure that out - but I was not willing to dork with it that much.

Bill, Why doesn't the T2's spring work in the S6?

I am finding this to be hella fun! Even though I have no real answers yet - and it doesn't really matter in the long run.
