Question CCM's barrel

Just looking for thoughts on the CCM barrels. How do they compare to others?

I have used the CCM CF barrel and it was nice.

Peace

My second choice barrel right now is a CCM aluminum kit (the old DYE-esque style). I had three of the CF kits (one for a Phantom) and decided that I don't actually like carbon fiber enough to use it in a barrel. Otherwise, they shot great. I've also used the newer style aluminum fronts, and while I don't like their appearance as much, they shoot great.

Oh, and my first choice of barrel right now is only theoretical, and I'm working on making it happen... so keep that in mind.

I have a nice 5 piece CCM barrel back kit & barrel (Thanks again to Mel and CCM!). I also have a Sly barrel kit, and without ever having placed them side-by-side I'd suggest that the backs are approximately the same length.

So if you like your control tubes to be longer then I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Like a Freak, WGP kit, etc.

Now that I think about it, I rarely have broken paint in my barrel & as long as I do a quick paint/barrel back matching before I play everything shoots decently straight. I guess I'm pretty satisfied with all of my barrels and fresh paint.

a barrel is barrel when it comes to accuracy.

the only reason i have favorites is to gain consistency and efficiency. basically the smaller the bore the better, and the longer the control bore the better. the CCM kit has a short back, but comes in the smaller bore sizes.

I too prefer long bores... this is actually a topic discussed here quite often.

My favorite Kits:
1)Class 05 and earlier Scepter kits with long locking bore sleeves... Not the prettiest or lightest, but I have never shot anything more accurate.
2)Deadly Wind Whisper CF barrel, takes freak inserts... Lighter than air and quite.
3)Long bore male to male ended yet to be named kit... lol a new kit I cannot wait for

* Althought I have had the CF ccm kit, and I currently have the aluminum. They shoot nice, the CF was prefered to the aluminum as I think the aluminum shoudl be used as a weapon rather than a barrel.. that thing has some weight to it. Again they shoot nice, but I just have a preference toward the long bore kits...

Not true, at all. I refuse to use any other barrel than my Deadly Wind. I tried a .693 UL and couldn't stand that I wasn't getting the same accuracy. The UL is a very nice barrel as well, say you take a stock A5 barrel and compare it to a DW barrel. A barrel is a barrel isn't true in that case at all and while a good paint size match is relevant to efficiency it has a lot to do with porting as well and nothing to do with consistency.
