decisions, decisions...

Okay, so I'm going to play some paintball at the end of September. I have a ton of "use or lose" leave this year (even more to use up next year, as they're dropping the max you can hold... gotta love the Army), and since I'll be using a bunch of leave, I figured I would go fling some paint. I'm looking at going to either Fall Pump Event at XTreme or The Fire Fall Objective at Smak Zone. I already know which way I'm leaning and why, but I want to hear from you guys - which do you think I should go to and why? Who else is going to these?

I'll start off with I'm a little baised on this, but I'd say Fire Fall Objective. I've also been to both events in the past. Fall Pump is fun, but doesn't hold a candle to this event.

It is by far one of the best scenario games in Missouri, on one of the best fields in Missouri. I took a group of nine to the event in May and it was by far the most fun I've had all year.

For the price ($45), you get entry to the event, Prize drawings, free player BBQ on friday night (It is really good!), pancakes on Sunday (not as good, but still a nice treat), air up to 4500 p.s.i, room to camp in a nice camping area, free firewood, and
BYOP after the purchase of 1 case of event paint.

Mark structures his game so there are multiple things going on at once and you can get involved rather easily. The bases and field are massive.

Also, Mark is one of the few surviving scenario producers in the state - and has been struggling with numbers as of late. The last game had a little over 100 (A small game for this field).

I invite you to at least try it once - you can even tag along with my team, The Pathfinders, if you like.

I'll also add that Mark only wants stand-up players. He has shooed a lot of players away because they might try to skirt the rules, cheat, etc.

This doesn't make him the most popular owner, but he won't stand up for that BS.

My big issue is that in my old age, I'm not excited by camping much anymore, and there's no real close hotels to the Smak Zone field. But, as I've already been to SPE this year, I do admit I'm leaning more to FFO than FPE.

But I'm still willing to listen to arguments for or against either event. Anyone going to FPE this year, or in years past, want to sell me (and the rest of the viewing public) on it?

I'm considering FFO. I live about 2.5 hrs from there and if I go I was planning on showing up early Saturday morning rather than camp the night before. I know I'll miss out on some good times but work schedule looks tough around that time. I've never been to either event but have read some pretty good things about Smak Zone.
