| MCB Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Southern Maine | Good news- I get a siphon tube from Chappy (huge tanks), and get my tank filled. I gas the gun up, and NO LEAKS. (more good news). I pull the trigger a couple times, and everything seems to work. I go outside, fill up with paint, turn on the camera.... and it stops working. The solenoid clicks, but it does not release the hammer. I assume the 9.6V battery is dead. I don't have the charger. So, is it safe to just take a 12v AC/Dc adapter, and rig it to the battery to charge it? Nick |

| Spread The Virus | Just throw a regular 9 volt in it ,it should be fine

With the fresh 9V, it would not work at all. The difference is more then voltage. Those 9.6v NiMH batteries have way more amps then the generic 9V batteries. However, I'm not sure why that matteries since it has a massive capaciter in there. You would think the capaciter would build up the amps, after a while. But, its like my Camera. It takes 2 AA batteries, but most AA won't even turn the camera on. It needs NiMH, or Lithium batteries to even make the camera work. And it might not be the barrery. Maybe its the shape, or weight of the hammer. Or spring tension, or something else. I'm going to rig up a charger, and then see if it works. Nick |

| MCB Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Southern Maine | OK. Good news, I found an old 12v AC/DC adapter, cut off the end, and taped it to the 9.7v battery. I plugged it in, and left it for an hour. Nothing exploded. I stuck it in the gun, threw on a Co2 tank. And it worked! I stick it in F/A mode, and it ripped out 40 quick shots, with dry ice flying everywhere, and the siphon "pinging" away. Then... it starts "clicking" again. So, I've isolated the battery as an issue. I'll give it a full charge, and see how many shots I get out of it. I took a video of it, so I'll try and get that on tonight. One bad bit of bad news, the macroline does not like the liquid. It seems to work OK if I screw in the tank upside down, so it can seal. When screwed in right side up, it seems to vent some liquid, which freezes the macroline, so it doesnt seal correctly? Who knows. EDIT: Here is the video Quick Video of Electro-Mega-Z Nothing fancy, since the battery died shortly after, but at least it is proof that the Montneel can be converted to electro. All I used for tools was a: Hacksaw 1/4" Drill/Tap 10/32" Drill/Tap Plus a used Spyde E-Grip, and a couple screws. nick Last edited by HP_Lovecraft; 02-08-2007 at 11:51 AM.. |
