I just got this and it actually works. all stock parts work, even the lpr is fully adjustable, go figure. After some adjustments and simple upgrades it is beautifully timed. Will probably keep it like this for awhile then maybe later turn it into a pump..... Maybe

Cool! I'm glad to have more proof that they can work out of the box. I was beginning to wonder.

Lol no doubt. But still needed timed. And it shots +\- 1-2fps, super consistent. I think i got one that got thrown into the wrong pile at the dye factory. And i was super stocked to find out about the dye thing, cause i just bought a dye back and put the Psycho tip on it. Gotta love that.

Irritation:

I'm re-tuning my Superbolt pump and have taken a closer look at how it works and it seems to be producing a tremendous amount of blowback up the feedneck on every shot. Gun is currently sweetspotted at ~410 psi, and it's popping the balls up the feedneck whether the pump is held forward or not. O-rings on the bolt are tank O-rings and the fit is very tight.

Anyone have any ideas here?

Make sure the barrel seats in the body. Many barrel and superbolt combinations will leave a gap. That keeps the bolt tip from sealing at the front. Look at the fit from the feed neck side.

Hadn't thught of that. Where exactly do you look from? Down the upper tube?

Yes. Only one I've got.

If it matters, I'm using a WWA pump kit.
Barrel is an old WGP Kaner kit.

A couple years ago I enlarged the passages forward of the valve, inside the pump kit, and the valve inlet hole. I'm afraid that might be the problem, but surely even enlarged by a bit this hole still would fall within the two O-rings on the bolt, right?

Wait, I see what you're talking about now.
I took the feedneck out and you're right- there's a large gap between the end of the barrel shank and the start of the bolt-width section of the upper tube. It didn't help that I had O-rings over the threads on my barrels to make them easier to remove- this was exacerbating the gap.

I've removed the O-rings from the barrels and found a slightly larger O-ring that will fit down the front of the Superbolt in front of the barrel; it fills up most of the gap. We'll see if this makes a difference.

How intriguing!! My superbolt has the same gap. I wonder if that's why it's been chopping so much; I was thinking that it was rollback or something.

Perhaps we should compile a list of barrels that leave a gap?

I've tried these and all have a gap:
Cp 2 piece
Dye aluminum one-piece
Disruptive 2 piece (2nd batch)

But then again, I just checked my trilogy and it has that gap too, and I never have problems with blowback.
