| My first project, first post... ...and as far as I'm aware, the *world's* first pump-action, pneumatic-assist Spyder. Meet Mr. Rogers. ![]() And a thumbnail for a bigger pic. ![]() Yes, it's painted, not annoed. It's a prototype. Anyway, the list: Custom-milled Spyder Victor body (sorta halfbacked it, partially on accident) Customized grip (cut from a double-trigger) STO pneumatics. Custom nylatron bolt and pump handle. Custom rear block. 'Cocker detent. Custom feedneck (adapter) Custom stainless striker. Custom reg cap (that's a WGP ergo mounted against the trigger guard). I have yet to chrono it properly since lightening the striker--it shot visibly hot with the full-weight one, even with hard valve spring and soft mainspring. Even so, it points and shoots like a friggin' dream. Better than even my Phantom. |

| pretty did you go with a strict pump action or are you still letting the hammer run in semi? I see what looks like it could be a cocking rod in the back, so thats why I ask.

| Wow. Been a while, and *now* I get replies. :P I wasn't planning on entering it in the contest when I made it, but I may now. I would have liked to get it annoed, but it was my first project, I had to use some JB on it, and I don't know if the Alumi-pro I used to stick the mounts on will take it. Our own Knightmare should be checking that eventually. No rush. I'm planning on a second one, but I've got other stuff first. Beastly, yes it's strict pump. I machined a stainless valve pin for it so it doesn't recock. Tiny bit of hammer bounce, but it shoots very nicely. Points, pumps, and shoots even better than my Phantom. Just need to get some O-rings on the bolt. Since I posted this, the brass insert I had in the hammer stripped out, and the cocking rod comes out at an angle. I need to make a new all-stainless hammer. |
