Been up to no good...

Here's a few pix of the little odds and ends that I've been working on. They are about done, just need a few finishing tweaks to be good to go...(Like some washers, and a sight bead for the Nelly...) Have fun...

Here they are....The bottom is a "brought-from-the-edge-of-terrible-death" NelSpot that I'd bought about a year ago. It had about 90% of the paint knocked off it and part of a Wintec frame that had been converted to slam fire. Thanks to Bacci (iirc) I managed a new frame. After some elbow grease, Birchwood Casey, and some creative part making (see below) (After viewing the preview, I see that isn't too clear. That is a 12ga Peters Remington shotshell brass...

I have a pretty decent shooter. Just have to get a wooden dowel for a ball stop, and a sheridan sight bead to hold in the cap...The upper piece of woody goodness Is to be dubbed the KP-xC (for carbine). It's a PGP that's had a Sheridan 397 trigger group adapted to it and a cedar stock. I'd had a longer front on the stock, but between a screw up with the mount hole and interference with the pump....well...ta da! Lemme know what ya'll think...

That wood is awsome and love the 12g shell.
How does the KP-xc balance and feel?

They look good, I really like that KP-XC, looks like it would be a fun woods ball pump.

The Kp reminded me of one of these old arcade rifles.

Used to always want to take one of these home with me.
I may be bothering you with your how you did the trigger conversion, I really love the look of that and may have to build one.

Looking good. You should be able to cut a chunk from the scrap of the front of the stock and dowl/glue it on then sand and restain the whole thing. If you dont still have some scrap left, PM me, I might have some

Thanks guys. I just have to figure out which feed I'm gonna stick on it....I'd like to go with a side tube, but it might end up with a df...We'll see...

Al -- Yeah, I was thinking about that. I didn't really like the way the tip chopped off. I still have the little piece that I cut off, I thought about attaching it (I also have the rest of the board, it was just a rough cut cedar 2x6 from Home Depot.) The other thing I was looking into was a barrel band. The trigger conversion is kinda wiggly since the PGPs stock hole and the trigger groups tab don't line up. I was thinking about a brass or copper barrel band to hold things together and trim the front of the stock....(I'm also leaning toward swaping the plastic pump to a knurled one I got some time back....hence not sure of which feed...I'd hate to cut up a knurled pump grip)

Catchya on the Flip Side.....

Emerald Wolf -- Oh btw...

Caplucky -- The balance is great. It isn't very heavy, so it's like a really stable PGP....We'll see when I get the barrel band and feed done though....

The barrel band Idea I like very much, should look good. What I have done in the past is to remove one of (forget which one) the screws that hold the trigger assembly halves together and drill it out through the other side, The drill a hole through the stock that lines up with hole in trigger assembly, countersink that and run a piece of all thread through with crome cap nuts on each end (not shure if they are called cap nuts, but they are nuts with built in little domes on top of them)

That's not a bad idea. I had thought about doing that to both holes, but then I had to concoct an idea to keep the halves together. The best that I could come up with was to drill both holes out and through the stock, run a stove bolt through one side and thread into a "rod connector" (it's a nut that is about 3 times wider than normal). From the other side would be another short screw. At the moment, the stock is only drilled from one side, with longer screws replacing the stock ones. The trigger group is pretty solid, it's just the barrel group that wiggles a tiny bit.....I'm gonna have to chase down some brass and do the band....Should look nice and drim out the front....

Catchya on the Flip Side.....

Emerald Wolf -- Thanks Decker...hey, did you still need a lone star grip for your 68 Special?
